Wich Is Better?

i am going to be getting some mature media from tank, wich is better the filter cartrige or the gravel on the bottom, ill be getting both but just curious

filter cartridge. unless you are using an underground filter there's a minimal amount of bacteria in gravel. certainly not enough to make a difference one way or the other.
