I'm keeping my lips and fingers sealed on any subject other than the fish... I'd get rid of the gourami, of course, I'm just not that into them, so maybe you like it more than the betta. Just fix the betta up okay? No flushing unless it is really, really dead. Not half dead, not sorta maybe dead, I'm talking dead. (If I could I'd take the betta off your hands...) If you want, take them both back and see what other kind of fish you can get for your tank that would fit and wouldn't eat the others... So that means research! It's a pain in the ass but it helps ALOT. If you want an aggressive fish, then find out what kind you can get for your sized tank. And then move your other nicer fish. Just do something, instead of sitting around. Pick a fish or take them both back. Good luck!

The gourami will probably die in that cup. Just bag him up in the morning and take him to the lfs. Your bettas fins will grow back.
