Why Won't My Female Guppy Become Pregnant?

I paid £12 for two pairs of juvenile Guppies and a bunch of fry from a private breeder, money well spent and I will never buy commercially bred ones again.

My female has never given any fry as far as I know. She is also a big eater! I guess the price works well for that store because they are always out!!! No point of wanting it any lower when you will still pay the full price anyways! Thanks for the comments and advice!

Does anyone know the age that a guppy has to be before they can reproduce? I think that could be a reason why I don't have any fry.

your guppy male could be infertile :/ or your female as some store bought guppies do become sterile as they are kept away from females or males for too long, i have had sword-tails like this and a half black Moscow female guppy but i suggest you buy a healthy pair off the internet as then your fish will be picked from a variety lessening the chances of them being infertile and 5-6 $ is way to much for feeder guppies you should be only paying 2$ max maybe 3$ if he or she is extraordinary.
Add lots of plants, feed high protein diet and have the tank lighted for 5-6 hours, if they still arent mating then you got yourself an infertile bunch :/.

Thanks! I decided to get a new female and she looks pregnant! I hope that "kick starts" the male like someone said! I hope for sucess. Thanks for your input!

My new female somehow got out of the tank... through the lid and all. But good news is my original female had 5 babbies, finally! I guess she just had to take her time!!! Thanks for all the comments!!!
