I have a 10gallon tank, divided into 2 sections. The middle section is just big enough to hold the filter(so the water flow is even each side)
1 side is Milligan my CT and the other is Ghost my rescue VT. Milligan is about 5 months old and Ghost I *think* about 3-4 months old - he was about 1 1/2 inches when I got him (not incl. tail!)
I did a water change yesterday, but I noticed on the side where Ghost is, the rocks were covered in green algae... Milligans rocks were clean. The flow from the filter goes stragiht out so its not like Milligan has a bigger current to keep it filtering better. Is there something wrong with Ghost maybe? He is eating fine, blows teeny tiny little bubbles against the glass. Swims all around and rushes over to the side to see me. Milligan also is fine.
1 thing that is weird though, is that before I had Ghost I had another rescue called Spike in the same side where Ghost was. He was an adult, and when I found him dead ( ) all his rocks were green too. I just dont get why only 1 side of the tank will get alot of algae and the other, none atall. There is absolutly NO direct sunlight on the tank. Hmm actually maybe it was because the light in the hood was mainly over that side of the tank?????? Just thought of that possibility. Its now in the middle of the hood so each side has the same amount of light now. Do you think this could be the reason? Or is there a chance Im going to find my little Ghost dead too just like Spike  :-(
Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

Hmm.... I'm not sure... but my thinking is that something that had algae on it before is still on that side of the tank. It wouldn't make sense to me that only one side is getting the algae unless the filtered water isn't making it's way over there?? I'm not sure...

Algae wont really hurt being there its just not nice, some live plants or moss balls will help as they use up the nitrates etc that the algae uses to grow.

prolly more light. i have to be careful w/ one of my tanks that i don't leave the lights on for too long each day- the rocks, plants and decorations get a coating of green- it's pretty gross to look at.
