my tanks water is slightly green , i can tell this as there is a white wall behind it and when i look thru its green , is this just down to water changes ?? if not what can i do to improve it and what could be causeing the water to go green ??

thanks all ,

How often do you change the water? If it is green, then maybe not often enough

Do you have a filter?

What is in the tank?

And any real plants in the tank?

yes i have real plants some leaves are dying alot, , there is 3 angels, 5 danios, 3 gouramis, 1 pleco, 3 neons, its all in a juwel rekord 96

you're a bit overstocked there for a 25 gallon.
the plants need lots of light and ferts too, and if you want them to really grow, CO2 as well, if they don't have that, they'll die off.

how often do you do water changes?

i probly have the light on for about 4 hours tops a day, i dont have a timer. it is near a window but the light doesnt shine on the tank , its proly down to water changes, and the leaves from diing, i reacently moved house and the tank was torn apart so the plants were disrupted, and the only nutrients where the fish poop in the gravel, i no its not enough nutrients, but i plan to do a complete redo into a proper planted tank ,with proper lights, co2 etc. but money is a little scarce for the tank at the moment,

i only do about 20 litres a week, from the tank or so , could it be this ?

cheers all
