I have a new tank which is currently cycling - I am really unsure what fish to keep. However, I shall have a Fluval Edge vacant in a couple more weeks and was thinking of a Betta for it.

Someone on here said they have lots of personality/ character..is this true?? :)

It is true that Betta fish have lots of personality and character.

Along with Puffer fish they are the only fish I have kept that will swim up to the glass to greet you when you approach the tank. Now this maybe because they just want food but I think there is more to it than just food, they want you to be their friend

My angelfish come to the glass to see me, but since that would be ridiculous in an Edge :p Def! get a Betta. I have had at least one Betta my whole life and they are always more of a pet then fish.

They have distinct personalities  :good:

Oh how sweet!! Thanks :hyper:

Bettas are the only fish that I have bought over and over again. They're very easy to fall in love with - beautiful and always unique :good:

Good grief - I do not know why that came up three times... I am tempted now. perhaps I can find him some tanks mates for my 90 litre tank with some expert advice...

I have hard water though and a ph of almost 8

i have ghost shrimp in with my CT betta...i love bettas they each have their on personality which i managed to get on on my males bad side the only time they tolerate me is when i feed them

I bought my first betta because the LFS said they're hardy. I've kept them ever since because they're beautiful and I do love their personalities. That's how I've gone from a single male to ten bettas, both boys and girls!
