Why are people afraid to say the word pleco? I read somewhere that its because they might jinx themselves that their pleco will die.

i've heard if you call a plec plecostromus your will die, not sure if that has anything to do with it. a bit superstitios though lol

Plecostomus. Doubt I'll die from saying it, though I will die some time.

Where are you hearing/reading this?

ive read it. but i read that if you say the full name your plec (ostumus) will die. just on the internet is where i read it

Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco.
If you keep saying it fast, it kind of sounds like the old Pac Man Atari game

I heard somewhere that people who believe in silly superstitions will die an early death (because they worry too much). :p

Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco,Pleco.

You're right it does sound like that. Had to try.

It's like the whole MacBeth thing. Can't call MacBeth, MacBeth, when you're on the stage. Have to call it the "Scottish Play". Theater people totally freak when you do that. Of course, no body cares in the opera world and we still call Verdi's opera based on that old "Scottish play" MacBeth. We are a fearless bunch, however, not like those theater people. :p

MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth, MacBeth. Nope, doesn't sound like an atari game, and that was a pain to type.

llj :)

I heard that 'pl*co' thing ages ago too  . I've only ever read it on one site, though i cant remember it. I think its rubbish, but quite funny, and i have no idea how it started.
