Why Do Fish Swim Vertically Up And Dow

lgarvey · Oct 18, 2008

Hi,

When I get new fish they often spend time in the corner of the tank swimming up and down in a column with other fish. They usually stop after a few days. It's fun to watch and looks like they are either playing, sorting out hierchays (like clown loach maybe) or something else.

Any ideas what they are doing? =)

Looking for an escape route

Mine do this when they are unhappy. When they come back from the LFS, they are bound to be stressed! I find that bullied fish do this too.
