For me it's a way to learn and help at the same time. I try to help when I can answer to someone's question about a problem they have but I also learn from other more knowledgable people's post. I'm a newbie (first tank in December) but have learned a huge amount on this forum and one other.

I like to come here to mostly help people out, especially a newbie starting up their first tank. I like to answer loach questions since most people don't know to much about them

I've been keeping fish for the better part of 25 years and I have learned A TON since I entered the internet world of aquatics. If we didn't have the internet, how many of us would have a resource of hundreds of hobbyists to bounce questions off of? There are also dozens of little things that I've always done, because your supposed to... that now I understand the how's and why's of. The pure benefit of the diverse resource makes it... well... addictive!

That particular forum is the first one I ever found. I was just like all newbies, thought all you had to do was buy a starter kit, add decorations, water and fish and you had an attractive aquarium....WRONG!!! It didn't take long to realize I had my first problem and start hunting help. There aren't as many people on that forum so there aren't as many posts but there are a few people that are extremely knowledgable (not that there aren't here). I like this forum because you can get answers a lot quicker. And as we all know, sometimes when you post a problem, you need answers NOW, not in an hour or two.

Yeah.......I admit it...........I go to two other fish forums

But I've got like 50 posts total, I barely show my face in those ones. This forum is so much better and you get replies faster so you don't have to wait like 2 days for a reply

I can't tell you how much this forum has helped me, all those simple questions and sometimes just reassurance that what i'm doing is right, fantastic. Now its getting that i can actually help others with some things. Great community cheers

I'm on here all the time . I'm so sad.... Its quite funny though, I only joined in about January and I've already got a huge post count. And the only fish I own are 1 betta in a 3g and 6 cories in an 18g....

This is the only forum I go on and I love it. I used to be a member on another site, but I left after 2 weeks... all the boards are dead, whereas here, no-one ever shuts up.
