I did number 1 2 3 4 and 5

Since it is possible (clearly) to have done more than one of the above, pick the one that actually made you get a new tank. Then if you want you can list what else you did that edged you toward your decision. If you post other please say what you did.

Also please post who you blame for your mistakes (other than yourself we all know we should have and could've but we didn't) so who's fault was it if you don't blame yourself for not researching? I blame the guy at the LFS. He told me I could have rainbow sharks in a group (the LFS sold them in three's). He also told me I could have a pictus alone. He also told me I could have a common pleco in a 29 gallon tank.

I buy new tanks when I see a fish I want and have nowhere for it to go within my current stocking!

yeah I forgot about simply wanting more fish. Is there anyway to edit a poll once it's in place?

The original motivation for this poll was to see if LFS cause MTS. I didn't even think about people wanting more fish. Although this is definately the best reason for someone to buy a new tank. Up next to wanting to give a comfortably stocked setup even more room to roam.

Had to buy a bigger tank when i adopted my sisters goldfish when it was sick, and he's still alive today.

Well, it's a long story............... I don't really have any big tanks, but I seem to have acquired a lot of them.

I was fine with just a couple of tanks for years, but then I noticed that corys came in more kinds than just my old faithful bronze C. aeneus. That was my downfall. And, of course, they have to be kept in schools.

It got worse too. After I got the computer I learned about all the many, many different kinds of corys there are and started collecting them in earnest. If that wasn't bad enough, they started spawning too.

When I joined this forum in August 2003 I had 7 tanks. Now I am the proud owner of 17, and my landlord is pitching a fit over them. Looks like I will be looking for a new place to move soon. :/

makes me feel like i'm the only one who got fooled by the lfs. :)

bought my second tank so as to keep discus, next couple of years and i'm gonna be getting a 6footer so i can keep marines!!!

oh yeah, bought my eldest son a mini tank for good behaviour and am currently building a small multi tank (breeding, hospital and quarantine, but not general!!)

I bought more tanks so I'd have a place for my swordie fry to be safe from being eaten. Than I needed a place for momma swordies to have fry without being harrassed. Then I wanted a big tank for my baby swordies to grow out in and also so I could keep more of them. But I was planning on breeding swordies when I bought the first tank so I knew then that I'd need more tanks so I don't consider it a mistake at all, I went into MTS with full knowledge of what I was doing.
