We have 3 yoyo loaches which are about 2 inches long and we have had for about 2 weeks. Only this week they have started to fade in colouring and turn a pinkish shade and their stripes are fading in some. They additionally don't seem to be paying any attention to each other. They are still eating and digging through rocks. They have lots of places to hide, plants and logs.. They tend to like to swim around and play and don't pay as much attention to the snails in the aquarium as they first did.. Futhermore, all the levels are normal, no problems with nitrate and ammonia anymore.

Our question is

1. What is the reason for their colour change? Is it normal? What can we do to help them?
2. Is it dangerous are they going to die?

Thank you

Thank you to all those who replied for our yoyo loaches question and apologies for not replying sooner. It appears the yoyo's are back to their normal colouring, must have been the stress of going into their new environment. Again thank you to all those who took the trouble to reply and assist us with our question, much appreciated.
