Okay so I have had these female guppies for about 4 weeks. The day I brought them home one of the females gave birth.... but since then none have given birth....

Here are my water stats.

Liquid test kit:
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 10
pH 7.6

Test strip (I know unreliable but it tests things I don't have a liquid kit for.)
Nitrate 10
Nitrite 0
GH 150
KH 120
pH 7.2

Temp 78

I am attaching some pictures so you can see that the females are in fact pregnant

They are at the top because they want me to feed them...

First get a liquid test kit. Also, if they gave birth the day you brought them home, then it normally takes ~4 weeks for them to give birth again. However, your guppies would look squared off and about to give birth, which I'm not seeing in the picture, so maybe they gave birth and they got sucked in the filter or eaten by the other guppies, they will eat there babies. I highly recommend getting a liquid test kit though. How big is your tank and how many guppies do you have?

I have a liquid test kit that is what I used to test the water.... Only one fish gave birth when I brought them home... I'm not discounting the fact that they may have given birth between now and then but I have never seen any of them lose their gravid spot or become skinny. 10 gallon tank 7 guppies 1 Otocinclus

A female with a gravid spot doesn't necessarily mean she's pregnant.

What happened to the fry? Is that them in the birthing box?

What type of filter do you have? HOB? When was the last time you pulled out the media? If you pull out the media but also look into the compartment...you might find some. Yes, most will get eaten. But also, depending onhow many hiding spots you have...you may not see any for awhile. I have also noticed that my drops have been fewer numbers this time round. 10 years ago it was nothing to faithfully get in excess of 30 fry per drop. Now I am lucky if I ee 10.s

I pulled it out last week... it was clear. its an internal filter the whole thing is under water.....

I bought the fish 2/27/2013.... yes the fry are in the breeder box .

I also have a bunch of fake plants for them to hide in....

I know this is not the topic of the forum but the Oto needs friends, they're a social fish and thrive with 5 or more of their own species.
In response to your question, sometimes females don't even have that many fry, and if they have had less than 10, it's likely they all got eaten within the same amount of minutes by the other guppies. My first drop was only about 15, but a couple of weeks ago one of the females I had, produced around 45-50 fry in one drop. It just varies depending on the females health, You should vary their diet and feed them lots of live foods if you want lots of fry.

Thank you I was wondering about the oto... his friend died last week, I was planning to get a few more....

I've had guppies for a year now... I know the signs of them being pregnant and then how they look after.... but these girls just stay the same.... I'm starting to think they are sterile and are just fat cause they eat like piggies

If you were getting drops of 30 fry 10 years ago and now you only get about 10 fry a drop you are doing something wrong.

1, give your adult guppy’s plenty of food keep them well fed feed live foods if possible,

2 a wall planted tank helps for fry to hide, keep adults well fed if a fish is hungry  it can and will get in to the plants and eat There fry.

3, if you keep a group of fish together don’t expect to see many fry, if you want a to save the fry  move the graved female to a small planted  tank and keep her well fed,  very young or old guppy's can often produce small numbers of fry,
I have some guppy’s that are 1” 1/12, in the last few weeks I have drops of 22, 24, 25, and 46,
as the fish grow each brood will  get larger,  the highest number  I have had from single female was 143 fry a good  size female should produce 30 +

Wow! I will make sure I am following your advice.....err....I think! lol I let my guppies birth right in the main tank and so yes quite a few are eaten I am sure. But this can be a good thing seeings how I don't have 20 tanks at the ready! lol I do feed well though and a variety. The numbers are just lower than before and ironically I was doing everything wrong then! Ooops....sorry for the hijack!

Maybe her Guppies are getting old now, and that's the reason for the decline in amount of fry, going by what you say ;)
