Why Are My Cabomba Caroliniana Dying ?

I dose when the lights go on and its served me well, my Cabomba along with everything else has been just fine. As for it not growing as bushy, it probably wont to start with anyway esp if your lighting is higher than it was at the shop. I found this problem with my Cabomba and Ambulia, they shot for the surface and the stems got so long but in the end after keeping them at half the height of my tank for about a month via trimming they soon got really bushy and got loads of new shoots too. Then its a case of keep trimming but let them grow about half the rate they natually do in your tank and they'll get bushy as they get taller, it worked for me. :)

My Cabomba caroliniana flourished and grew at a massive rate per week. However in my smaller restricted tank the lower portions of the plant went brown and died and I purely believe that was down to the fact the upper part of the plant was growing so fast it was causing a lack of light penetrating to the lower leaves.

On another note... has anyone ever go as far as to eat this? I read that this is a form of vegetable for people in the native area of this plant. I was tempted too... until I took a second look and saw my apple snail glaring at me. Then I reconsidered...
