Lately I've noticed when I do a health check or just go look at them They move from where ever they are to the front of the tank and seem to be watching me. If I move my hand near the top of the tank to adjust the hood or lighting they all go to the top waiting to be fed all the time watching to see what I'll do. Has anyone else noticed this behavior?

LOL!

Oh yes, my little collection of fish are nosey little buggers. ESPCIALLY my Betta (must be female).

tsk, tsk; everyone knows men always have to know whats going on. Just try working on your car and see what happens. Will a woman come over to see what you're doing? Nope Always a man. And then they say fixing the car huh? No I just thought the yard would look nice with pieces of engine all over it. Duh! :p

They are that. Mine even chase the net when I'm scooping up floating debris but let me try to catch one and they hide. Not only crazy but smart too.

I came home in the middle of the day yesterday (there was a power cut at work, yippee a free afternoon!). As soon as I walked in the front door our fish started zipping up and down the side of the tank in their usual 'feed me, feed me' frenzy that they do when I get home each evening. Often the yoyo loaches get so excited they make splashing noises, they're so cute. But as it was only 2 o'clock in the afternoon the gang had to wait a bit longer for their dinner! Maybe I could teach them to tell the time.

PS. Just remembered this. We had some sail-fin mollies once and whenever my husband or I put a hand in the tank for any reason they would come up and suck on our hand, quite hard sometimes. I could never decide whether I liked it or not. They were the most nosey fish we've had.

My Platties do this! I find it cute! :hyper:

All my fish are like that, especially the three tiger barbs. They all go quite silly when I approach the tank, gatherine in one corner and darting this way and that, up and down. Anyone would think I didn't feed them from one day to the next. It really makes me smile!

My Zebras are the nosiest fish. Anything that goes into the tank must be investigated as a possible food source and nibbled. Despite their size and freshwater nature, I suspect they might be some kind of miniature sharks. They'll nibble almost anything, including my hand, the net, the siphon tube, even the bag that has other fish acclimating in it.

My Keyhole Cichlids are always swimming alone with my hand in the tank. Its really cool. They arent scared at all but curious.

Would fish think you as protection?

all my fish do that.they zip and down the front of the tank in a frenzy everytime they see me lol.

cichlids are great for doing it especially oscars and severum lmao

I get the same, especially with my guppies! Very nosy fish.

I've lost count of the number of times i've almost 'brained' a nosy platy or guppy as i'm cleaning the tank, they literally follow the syphon EVERYWHERE!

Mine are the same. trust me to get delinquent fish!!!! I have 4 rainbows who are quite tame and one of my male cherry barbs likes rubbing along the edge of my fingers when i put them in the tank. They all rush to the front of the tank when its dinnertime. When i'm cleaning my 10 gal tank, the zebra danios like biting the air bubbles on my arm. In both my tanks, they all seem to have a fancination for knocking the thermometer against the glass and my silver sharks like knocking the algae magnet off. Scares the living daylights out of us at times.

Yes My Betta is a curious little guy.. always watching me.. but he only goes of for food when i grab his bag of pellt food.. other wise he jsut sites there near the side I am closest too and looks at me.. my goldfish watch me but they look at me then the top then at me and then the top.. they jsut want food.

My aquarium is right beside my couch in the living room and somedays I will be watching T.V and gase over and my dempsey will just be sitting there staring at me. Another weird thing was my Oscars were in love with my grandma hah. They would follow her every time she would pass the tank.
