i came home today to find my firemouth pair have had baby's!

Got about 20-30 or so.

they seem good parents, if the fry stray too far they go suck them up and swim back then spit them out,


Im sooooooo happy!

can't get pics up yet. baby's too small for camera to pic up,

Unfortunatly the parents ate alot of the baby's but i've mamanged to get about 15 in a breeding net to raise.

will get pics up when they grow a tad!

Unfortunatly every fry died not happy but atleast i know i have a breeding pair

Typical for cichlids to be unsuccessful on their first few batches. Now that they have started breeding, they will do it again and again so prepare for the babies first off. I would leave the babies with them from now on until they get big enough to swim and adventure on their own... the more batches they have, the better they will get with experience.

cheers. ill just leave them in. last time they made everything stay at other end of tank. so ill just let them do it there own way next time.
