Who Started This Flippin Betta Obsession?

I know who, a friend of ours that gave us a tank a few months ago. Up till then we didn't have any.

NOW, we have 55L - 1 Male VT, 4 Sterbai, 3 Pandas & 4 Oto's.
70L - 5 Female Bettas (soon to be 7, thanks Modaz) and 1 Yoyo loach
30L - Divided - 1 HMBF
1 PK
60L - Grow out tank

Not content with that, and because SQ Bettas has such a pretty HM Dragon, which complements one of our female Dragons, I'll have to go out tomorrow and go tank buying!!! I intend to get a 6 gallon tank so JUST IN CASE Netty see's anything else she likes it can be divided

I think we'll have to throw the teenager out the house and use his bedroom as a fish room

Thing is, i intended my 70L to be a "mixed community" I think not

On a serious note, does antone have any suggestions for filtering the new 6 gallon tank, bearing in mind it could be divided at some point

Don't get me started on this....i'm very lucky that i have 1) a very understanding wife and B) a big conservatory

I don't however have an endless pot of cash and i have stupidly/sensibly ordered 3 stunning males from Daz to go with my other 5 males, 5 females and god knows how many 2 week old fry !!!!

I have to go tank hunting too tomorrow....i'm lucky that our local tip sells second hand (read reclaimed !!!) tanks and they have a nice 3 foot tank for a tenner.

I have just turned down a 7 foot by 13" x 13" tank though....would've been perfect all partitioned off. Only going for £80 too but just can't justify it at the moment.

Like you we aren't rich, so far the tanks we have, have come to about £100, which aint bad

lol altogether my 2 tanks come to a total of 70 quid lol

got my first one from aldi lol for 40 quid, 2 foot by 1 foot by 1 foot

i thought it wernt bad for price so i got it lol.

then my other is a breeding tanks for my VT betta and my female which i havent got an idea what it is lol

Haha the obsession is very lethal!
i made my fiance move the bed in the front room so we cn make the old "bedroom"
a breeding room

We've got a small walk in pantry in the kitchen which isn't used anymore since having the new kitchen fitted. It's only got junk in it........got the shelving and everything........mmm will the PLEASE PLEASE tactic work again

just do it slowly by adding the tanks closer and too the pantry.. lol
our tanks started to invade the front room and i just TOLD ricky the tanks ARE going in the fish room....

The independant fish shop up the road from us has said they will save any suitable jars for us and also offered us brine shrimp eggs for when we breed and wants to buy stock from us if we're successful.

See....This is why I'm getting a big ol' 80 gal tank...that way I stop buying so many smaller tanks...haha



Probably end up getting more bettas anyways....
