Who says you can't have fun with a 2.5g?

WOW! I love your tank! I'm so jealous! lol. :D :kewlpics: I have a 2.5 gallon too, but mine doesn't look half as good. In a few weeks I'm also getting a betta. Does your betta move around a lot? And I know, I don't have any room for big tanks either. All I have is the 10 gallon and the 2.5, so anyway, your betta is beautiful, I want mine now! And I love your tank!

Thanx. :)
Yes, he moves around a lot, especially when he is teased by the tetra. The tetra plays "can't catch me" with the betta by hovering hear his head. But he's just too quick!

The tank is simpler than it looks.
-- natural gravel
-- wallpaper (I am going to try the blue background cuz bunjiweb says it will bring out the color of the plants and driftwood even more)
-- a small piece of driftwood (there was a small hole in it, so I pulled one of the ferns through it)
-- 4 small java ferns

I am a HUGE fan of java fern because the one in the hole was placed into an unfiltered/unlit bowl with a betta, and it grew really nice! No CO2 required.

thanks for the picture Itty Bitty Betta. I'm not sure that I've seen those filters before. Will look into it. Is there much water flow?

These are nano-filters. The instructions that come with it say it's good up to 5 gallons. I kind of doubt that. But it runs very quiet.

I realize this thread's been quiet for awhile but I just found it and had to add, this little tank is gorgeous!!

I too have a 2.5 gallon that I started cycling 3 days ago (fishless of course!) My plan is to get a male betta; right now the tank has white gravel, a rotala plant, two small sprigs of anacharis, and a java fern poking through a hole in a gray and white ornament. My filter is a Duetto Mini (submersed). And two small snails that hitched a ride on a plant!

I had not thought of using two filters to help with cycling; how did that work for you and how often did you have to do water changes for nitrites? Or maybe the plants helped with the cycling too. What kind of filters are those?

Are you planning to keep both fish in there long term?

My tank is near a north-facing window that gets good indirect sunlight.
Again, great looking tank!

EDIT: Whoops, missed the last two posts, answered the "what kind of filters" question :p

Wholy Smokes! If the betta wasent there, and the pic. was just of the tank, I'd have guessed it was bigger than that!

cOOL B)
I was going to say to this guy "You could see the size of the tank just by the Stress coat."

Then I realized it was me! :fun:

WOW  I am in love with that tank.. I have a 2.5 gallon, and maybe mine is a different shape or something, b/c I cannot imagine getting mine to look like that!! It is amazing!! I thought the same as someone above.... HOLY COW that is the biggest betta i've ever seen!!
