I picked one up a month ago, he just came out of a 10 gallon quar tank today. He's about 1 1/2" now, and took nicely to his transfer to a 20 gallon. I have a 38 gallon & a 63 gallon that need a little work before setting up, and have a line on a 55. It won't be long before he goes in one of those tanks. He's a little eating machine.

Fpr the amount of space they require, I dont think they're too special...

Oscars (most of them anyway) aren't aggressive. Wolf Cichlids are aggressive, not Oscars. They are like a big rowdy, messy puppies.

They're aggressive as compared to community fish, but pretty docile as compared to a lot of cichlids. Mine got his butt kicked by a fish half his size once... and now they think they're a mated pair (nevermind that she's not the same species)

They're a good, hardy, and cheap cichlid for those who like big fish that love begging for food, but there are certainly far nicer 'big and messy' cichlids available. I'd rate them as neat, but overrated.
