Yep, that is indeed a YoYo Loach (Botia Almorhae) - but that's a first that I hear they eat plants!
What other fish or inverts do you have?

Edit: according to your profile, these are your fish:

1 x Common Plec

1 x Red Tail Shark

2 x Gold Mollies

4 x Angelfish

5 x Black Phantom Tetra

5 x Glowlight Tetra

5 x Blue Tetra

5 x Rosy Barb

If that's so, then my only guess might be the common plec. What plants are being eaten? Leaves only or stems as well. Photo?

2 Blue Gourami,
5 Angels
1 Red Tailed Shark
1 Sail Fin Plec
5 Black phantom tetra
and 2 x Small cat fish looki likie things.

Plants have only recently been losing their leaves since YoYo loach came along :S

OK, what are the "and 2 x Small cat fish looki likie things" ?

The leaves are just falling off? Are you very sure they are actually being eaten?

It might just be a nutrient / light issue.

it is def' a yoyo loach. Thery should be kept in groups of 3 or more, not on their own. I doubt he has eaten the plants as they like snails. Mine will eat flakes too and pellets and adore bloodworms.

Thanks for all the input.

This is one of them. Please can you also identify this lil chap :p

Hmmz maybe i should just get some new plants?

You're going to have to either return the plec, or get a much bigger tank. If it's a common plec, you'll need a minimum of a 4ft x 18" x 18", if it's a sailfin/gibby you'll need a 4ft x 2ft x 2ft in the long run. You will have some time to play with, but not much in a 96l tank. Commons grow faster than gibbies, but either way they're both fast growing monster plecs ;)

What are you feeding the plec? I'll bet you that's your culprit, not your loach.

Mine destroy them too, but I've had planted tanks with plecs before. I think each plec is individual, some will chomp on them, some will leave them alone. They're more likely to eat them if they're not fed veggies - but TBH, I feed mine veggies every other day, and they still destroy any plant I put in. Worst offenders are supposed to be bristlenoses with amazon swords, but the one I have in my planted tank leaves them alone.

Ant - I have 4 yoyo loaches and they do a number on my plants! They don't exactly eat them but they rip them up, push them around, dig in them, ect. Giving them the appearance of being eaten. Ive tried everything to keep them in the ground to no avail. You may have to use plastic or deal with it lol!!
I know it was already mentioned, but yoyo loaches really prefer to be in groups, this little guy would be a lot happier (and maybe leave your plants alone) if you got him some friends!!

i was thinkg of getting som yoyo's aswell tho i wanted to get anouther clown loch to go with my other 2 will yoyo's school with clowns ? if so then ill get yoyo's instead :)
