As the title says........Please reassure me that I am not the only one

What you got, in what and your location?

Me?.....all in my signature and my location.....Nr Southampton....Hampshire

HI, Location is Tullibody (near Stirling), 6 Multis in a small tank (desperately needing a new home),,,,,
2 juvi Multis in a 20 gall tank along with 4 Alto Comp Dwarf Sumbu (try saying that after a few jars),
Also had Julidochromis Dickfeldi, lost tham after a filter problem caused a loss of water circulation and a heat increase....
Multi becoming more popular in my area now, have located them in Edinburgh and Stilring, Stirling LFS wanting to keep there ones to see if they can breed them, I am toying with the idea of offering to set up a display tank for them
The Dwarf Comps have spawned again, so need to make some tank space,,, yaeh :good:

You are not alone

I nearly went for a Tanganyikan setup with dickfeldi (who are very unique in that multiple generations of a family will babysit the current youngest generation) and some shell-dwellers, but I think that what stopped me more than anything was worrying about the extra weight of all those rock caves on the first floor joints of our maisonette!

Well, not quite alone but still feeling lonely!........anyone else out there or are we it

just about to set mine up, going to order 6 multis to begin with, then juli dickfieldi, and perhaps some cyps for the open water :)

got all the tank ready, 72 shells should arrive anytime now (250l tank)

I still have the multies in their own tank, though I have changed from Tangs to Mbuna in my latest 'main' tank.. though there is still a masked Julie in there which is the king of the tank  and the lone survivor Tropheous Dubosi..

I will be setting up another when I move though, which will mostly be Frontosa.

I'm in Leeds.. the right side of the Pennines :good:

Doresy,
I've just been randomly looking through an online advertisement site and came across an advert for some Tanganyikan Goby Cichlids (doesn't specify species), posted by a pet store down Bournemouth way and it made me think of you!

It was posted a fe weeks back and the pet store's fish database is down at the mo, but in case you fancy looking into it...

Hi, thanks for that. Those Tang' Gobies are extremely hard to keep (I tried twice in my early days) Very timid cichlid so stress out in a busy tank. Great fish though

Hi, what size of tank do you have ?
Was wondering about the behaviour between the Multies and Occies ? Do they get along ok ? I have heard the Occies can be a bit nippy ? You'll love the Dickfeldi when you get them, I have kept them in the past, very graceful fish very intersting, you might need to watch if they pair up though, I have heard of some people having them breed and they take over the shell bed, cool fish.... :good:

Hi, its a 250l tank. occies are very terratorial and chase them out of their space, hopefully the multis will settle in their shellbed i created for them. yeah need alot more roack work round the back before putting dickfieldi in. i was thinking of a male and female aswell.

Thanks Darren

My tank wasn't really wide enough to place rocks along the back so I had a large stack at each end then changed it to one at the end and one in the middle, worked a treat, you'll be amazed at how little territory the Dickfeldi will hold, really nice watching them crawl all over the rocks, really cool watching them find the smallest crevice and squeezing into it, looking for a julidochromis transcriptus gombe once this tanks properly organised, keep the updates coming :good:

Hi guys I keep Tangs In Derby I have 2 tanks. The main one is 6'7" x 30(w)x 26" and the other 5' x18"x18". They run on the same system at around 1500 litres.
I have
cyps, trets, leleupi, xenotilapia sima, ectodus descampii, ventralis featherfins, gobies, tropheus, lamprilogus meerli, julidiochromis ornatus, all interspersed with the odd malawi and victorian, and 2 Fly river turtles.

More people should keep Tangs, I really don't understand why everyone and his dog has Malawis!
