I bought two blue rams last week, they were both quite timid and spend most of the week hiding. I went away for the weekend and one of them died. I couldn't see any obvious reason for this, no unusual behaviour in the remaining ram or in any of the danio's in the tank. When I got up yesterday I noticed that remaining ram was *covered* in white spots and started treating the tank immediately with WS3 'white spot terminator'.

I was just wondering at this stage of infection, what are the chances this little guy will pull through? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Will continue to treat tank.

EDIT: Second quick question, I did a water change before noticing the ich outbreak on BOTH of my tanks, using the same equipment. Could I have infected the other tank. A bit worried as this has clown loaches and gourami (not as hardy as the danio's). What should I do about this? Should I treat at a half dose as a preventative measure. I'm not sure what would be worse for the loaches?

TRES WORRIED.

Thanks!

I wouldn't treat the other tank if there is no sign of whitespot, just sterlise equipment to stop if passing to the other one.
Turn temp up, increase aeration, as long as the ram isn't laboured breathing he might be ok, good luck.

He doesn't look like he's breath too well in all honesty.

Don't ever half dose - unless the medication indicates that. I have only ever full dosed with loaches and have never lost one. Half dosing also increases the chances of creating super strains of ICH.

Chances are good that you have transferred if from one tank to the other - but it's not for definite. Just keep a close eye on the other tank - and take action at the first sign of rubbing/flicking.

Good luck.

Not good then sorry, once the infest the gills and they heavy breath not good, have you increased aeration in the tank.
