Omg, we have these little white worms in our tank. They are really really small and crawling on the glass and floating in the water.

We found them about 20 min ago, have never seen them before, and at the moment they are only crawling on the glass. I've no idea if they are planeria (which is what I found when searching, because all the pics show larger worms...these are small so i can't compare.)

Okay, we have a 28 gallon tank.
We tested the water, all nitrites and nitrates and everything ammonia and all are within normal range.
Temp = 77.4 F
PH = 6.8
Nitrites = 0
Ammonia = 0
Nitrates = 5.0

We did a 8 gallon water change one week ago.

We have not added any fish or anything to our tank in about a month. The last thing we added was a rammed horn snail.

We have a Red Glass Barb who was injured about 3 days ago. She probably got into a fight with another fish and she has a patch of scales that are now missing. Is it possible the worms came from the sore somehow? She is now in a seperate tank because her condition is getting worse.

Now, we have something called CopperSafe "for ich, velvet, and other external parasites". We've added that so the sick tank. Will that or something else kill the worms???? How did they get there??? I'm sooo panicking right now.

What do I do about our lobster and snail???? They are both in the large tank with the worms! I dont' know if I can add coppersafe to it, it might kill them! What do I do???

Oh, and we do not use water from the tap. We buy RO water from walmart (if we use the stuff from the tap, we end up with brown algea on EVERYTHING.

Help help help!!!!!

The first thing you need to do is calm down. Unless you are a breeder, Planarians are harmless. They usually indicate overfeeding or a tank which has not been cleaned correctly. They certainly did not come from a damaged fish. You really don't need to start pumping your tank full of chemicals. Don't feed for a few days, and look for any areas in your tank that have not been cleaned, as this is where they will tend to develop.

They usually disappear quite soon after their cause has gone.

try pulling some off they are some sought of visible parasite are u shore they arnet lice

Well I'm not panicking so much now. They are that planeria/flatworms for sure. They were all in the gravel and everything. I started feeding the fish over the last month rather than my fiance. I showed him how much I was feeding them yesterday and I was informed it was probably too much.

Now I know. He thinks it had something to do with the shrimp pellets the lobster wasn't eating. I was feeding him quite a few not realizing that he obviously hates them. So they were just stuck in the gravel getting all gross.

Jace did a water change and some cleaning. We aren't going to feed them for a couple of days. The lobster will be fine for that long and hopefully it will help clear everything out.

yea they are harmless, can be found in just about anybodys tank weather you overfeed or not, but they will thrive if u do overfeed. my guppy fry gobble them up all the time, but i hear that they will harm unhatched eggs.
