Right guys and girls really need your help, whilst studying my tank ive noticed that one of my oto's has a white tumor type growth right next to his mouth, he appears healthy in every other way and feeds well. What is this? and how can it be treated? I really dont want it spreading if its contagious so need to act fast.

Here is a picture of it, not a very good picture but its the best ive got, ive pointed it out with an arrow:

All help is really appreciated :good:

Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

Can you enlarge the picture it hard to see the lump.
Is the lump smooth or look like a cauliflower.
Does the lump look hard or soft like filled with puss.
Lumps that suddenly appear are usually bacterial.
Any whiteness on the mouth or cotton fluff on the mouth, or white strand coming from the mouth area.

Will have to get the latest water stats for you when I do a test but the other info is:

54 litre tank,
Have just added quite a few plants,
3 Platies, 3 Albino corys, 3 Oto's and 4 Guppies.
Doesnt appear to be any fluff or stringy stuff coming from the mouth.
The lump kinda looks filled with puss I guess but its pretty hard to tell without touching it obviously.

I cant enlarge the picture cause otherwise its just really blurry :(

All you can do is try a bacterial med.
Can you issolate the fish for treatment.
