Over the past week iv had this white string type stuff on my plants, hanging down. At first it was just a little bit on one plant, but over the week it has grown bigger and in other places on the plant, along with on the other plants too.

Cant really get a picture as my cameras terrible for small things. Anyone got any ideas? I have those common fern plants (dont know technical name).

Im looking closely at it now and its actually coming out of the plant itself. Its coming out of the parts where a branch is sticking out, like on the joint.

Any ideas?

Confused

What? From 3/4 of the way up of the plant?

By string i should have said thread, its more like white thread.....i thought it was at first.

If it is roots, why are they coming from the top of the plant? Iv never seen that before :S

Yeah my plants do that too. Usually when I've pulled a leaf off cos its yellow or got tons of algae on it - it either grows in a new leaf or out shoots a root.v I've had it do it from near the very top of the plant too so don't fret!

You can just pull them off if you don't like the look of it.

Ah right that explains it then. I did cut the plants down to size because they were too big for my tank. Guess thats why its happening on them all.

Thanks guys :)
