I have got a problem with a black molly..................it keeps getting whitespot!
I treat with anti white spot and it clears up but a few weeks later it comes back again................all the other fish seem fine apart from the molly.
Any ideas whats causing it and what should i do?
thanks

Can you give your water stats ie: ammonia/nitrIte readings.
Do you use marine salt in the molly's tank?

Ammonia and Nitrate have ben nil for months
Nitrate is 40
Water ph is 8

I have not treated with any salts..............only anti white spot.
It seems crazy to treat every other week week for just one molly?

I've been chatting to a guy at the lfs today and he's kept and bred mollys for years by putting a pinch of aquatonic salt in the filter. Advice on here will tell you to use marine salt and keep mollys in brackish water ie slightly salty. Whichever route you choose, salt seems to protect mollys from disease. Aquatonic is around £1.25 a box, marine salt is about 5 quid for the same amount.

This may well start an argument but hey, I'm only passing on what I've been told. The guy at the lfs has been keeping fish for 25 years. :dunno:
