from what I;ve read on here white spots a nightmare right?

well my coral beauty that didn't have them this morning now has a load on it

what do I do?

my tanksfull of corals etc does this mean everything has to be stripped etc

I;m gutted!!

No medications will be OK with corals. You'll want to move him to a hospital tank ASAP. If you don't have one, I'd step one up. It doesn't have to be anything fancy or too big. A simple filtration will do with a heater.

I;ve got a 24x14x12 set up for brackish but the water ain;t RO? and its only got a smallinternal filter in?

if i move fish and corals and inverts in there then what do I do? leave live rock inmain tank?

sorr yjus seen you meant just coral beauty. if I riase the sg in that now what level is needed just for a fish? I;ve got a 5 g barrel of ro I could add

Yes, just the angel. whitespot doesn't affect anything except fish. I would keep the SG near the same as your tank.

i was just about to post somthing like that and then i clicked back insted of post.

am i right in thinking that if I move the fish out the reef tank willrecover as the white spot wouldn;t have a host. can white spot host snails and shrimp?

cheers Nemo

quarantine tank in process of being set up now, will justhave to wait till morning to getmore ready mix RO

Its a 65 litre with heater , koralia 1, internal filter with filter wool.
theres too much coral sand and a piece of ocean rock a plantpot upside down with hole in for hiding fish

I;ve got some of that quick start bacteria solution which I can add. the internal filter woolhas been running in a brackish tank for couple of weeks

all the spots have gone!!!

is this just part of the cycle?

was it definatly spots are was it just sand particals?

can;t be sure I suppose but they looked like white spot to me and it was on tail fin area head area and on pectoral fins but nothing now.

I;m going to get the salty ro anyway this morning and set the quarantine up and buy some meds as well just incase they reappear??

yip makes sense to be safe :good: fingers crossed here for you hoping it was sand

bought the meds just about the cheapest thing I;ve had to buy for the marine tank so far £4.49 but the lfs guy sold it me for £3
#28### just realised its freshwater treatment!!!

no wonder!!! not going back now I;ll go back on tuesday when back in work!!

well its back on the coral beauty and on one of the clowns as well so I;m convinced its marine white spot this time

the quarantine tanks running now so may try and add them in there and treat however the only treatment my lfs had is esha oodinex a wide range marine treatment which is supposed to be invertabrate friendly

has anyone used this and is it marine friendly?
