One of my fish has got a few tiny little white marks on it, I’m not sure if she has caught herself on something or if it is white spot. It appeared over night.
The tank has been running for a good 2 years without any problems and all of the water stats were fine when I tested them last. All of the fish are acting normal and active. No gasping or flicking or rubbing up against anything. All are feeding fine.
I cant get down to my LFS until next weekend (wont get home until well after they have closed all week
) but I noticed my local supermarket sells King British White Spot Control No5 when I was having a nosey round a few weeks back ( and is open 24 hours) Is this any good?
Here is a picture of the offending fish. It is the yellow female guppy with the fancy tail. (ignore all the stuff floating in the tank, my fish associate me with food, so as soon as I go near the tank they start swimming around like mad until i feed them! the only way I could get her to stay in one part of the tank for long enough to take a photo was to feed her)
Close up with red circles highlighting the white "spots"
Is it white spot?
If yes...
Can the treatment do any harm to the fish that don’t have white spot?
Will the treatment I mentioned upset the "good" bacteria in my filter?
Is the treatment i mentioned any good?
Finally are there any types of fish that this treetment cant be used with?
