I had white spot break out in my tank a couple of weeks ago which didnt seem to be clearing up at all with the previous meds that I was using so I got a different one from my LFS which I am pleased to say seems to have helped......

My question is that I still have a few fish which have a few small spots on them but the worst affected ones have cleared up so should I continue with the treatment for a little while longer or just leave it be and continue with my water changes every couple of days!

Luckily non of my fish died from the white spot but I did have one die last night but she wasnt well in herself and it was no suprise. All other fish seem fine apart from the odd spot here and there.

I would do a large water change, up to 50%.
then start your course of treatment again.
I would also raise the temperature to 82f as the
ich parasite can not live in waters above 80f

Thanks for that I will give it a go! I presume I should do the temp increase over a couple of days?

I did a four litre change last night!

How long does it normally take to clear?

depends on what treatment you are using,
I have cleared it in 5days using FMG and high temps

Original treatment I was using was my Tetra med white spot treatment

But it didnt seem to be working so went to LFS (which was closing up for night) and they got me another one but can't remember the name of it SORRY
