I have - white spot in my tank - just noticed the first spots today, the fish seem quite healthy otherwise and not displaying any odd behaviour. my water tests are good (unchanged)

I have a bottle of White spot terminator (WS3) by Sinclair (AKA KING BRITISH) (UK) containing Acriflavine, Malachite Green & Quinine sulphate.

will this harm amano shrimps and otos ? Has anyone used this with shrimps in their tank ? should I half dose ?

(It would be imposible to find the shrimps to move them without dismantling the tank which is deep and densly planted)

your advice appreciated

You will have to remove the strimps from the tank the med will kill them.

I have used Interpet anti-white spot to dose an entire tank at full strength (twice) and all my amano shrimp survived. And my fish were cured. My tank was huge and densly planted with lots of bogwood an no way of removing my shrimp.
However: I'm not saying your shrimp would be fine. All I know is that mine survived and several years later still alive.

thanks guys.. I have also done an internet search........ looks like they should be ok, but will use 1/2 strength and keep my fingers crossed.

Don't use the treatment if the fish do not have a fullblown whitespot problem. It will only make it worse! Trust me! Just add in some aquarium salt and add some stress-reducting aquaplus and wait. Try not to stress them out. Take out the fish that have the biggest whitespot problem and add a teaspoon salt per three gallons.
The medication acts like chemotherapy and deprives their immune systems which makes it worse.
