Hi again got yet an other problem but this one is a brand new one. I have just got 3 red head tapajos brought them home had them in float and noticed that 2 of them have a few white spots not many but its obviously ich. So just need a few quick questions really.

One I have no white spot medicine which is best for UK? Is it the waterlife one?

Two will it screw up the filter as my QT tank has been turned off for about a day and I will have to get some media from my FX5 for it but if it will just bump the filter there is no point.

Three just thinking about it will the filter still be alive? It got turned off at about 9pm Saturday? Or should I just give up with it and get the media from other tank?

Quick replies appropriated as always

If one fish has whitespot in main tank the whole tank want's treating.

You will need to check your water stats to see how much bacteria has died off if the filter been switched off.

Some whitespot meds can knock water stats slightly.

Protozin by waterlife a good med. and also anti whitespot med by interpet.

Raise temp to 30.
Increase aeration as the high temp and med reduce 02 in the water.
Remove black carbon from filter if you use it.
Make sure you can you the full dose with the fish you keep. With sensitive fish you sometimes have to half dose.

Thanks Wilder they were just bought and the closest they got to the main tank was their bag floated on it just warming the tank up now and going to get medicine now. Thanks again Wills

Ok. I see now.

It's up to you then if you treat in isslation or just treat the whole tank.
I think I would issolate and treat, if the bag water never got into the main tank.
