There's a white spot on my betta's nose. I was told it may be a bacterial infection.

I've used BettaFix and BettaMax per recommended instructions to no avail.

He is in isolation, but still eats, swims, etc. I want to be able to put him back in my community tank like he was but I have no idea what's going on.

I've posted before and gotten responses of "Use such and such, that should fix it." but it doesn't... now who do I ask?

Help please.

How big is the spot and does it have any red like a circling of red on the ouside of the spot or a red centre.

It basically surrounds his mouth. I can't really see any red but from the flashlight I'm using (tried both incandescent and LED) it doesn't appear to. He's had it for a while now and it's been treated.

Knock on wood, but if it was something serious, don't you think he'd have died by now? He'll be a year old this month (or, I'll have had him a year).

I'm mostly concerned if it could be something contagious. I want him to go back into the community tank, even if he'll eventually die from what he's got, as long as it's not going to infect my other fish. I hate having him all alone in isolation, next to the big tank, when he used to be in it.

If in the united states maracyn one and two, uk pimafix and myxazin by waterlife.

He died.

Time for a new male. Any recommendations as to where to get one other than my LFS?

So sorry for your loss. I'm very attached to my guy--he's my 4th (in a row). I can relate to that feeling of helplessness when you saw the white spot on your betta's nose--I had the same thing happen recently :rip: with my teen age balloon mollies and they both died within a few days!! Nothing seemed to treat that either.\
:rip: my little friend.

Post on the emergency forum. Give full specifics of what you see (photos if you can) plus complete info on your water stats, temperature, etc. If anyone can help you save your fish the guys on that forum can.
