Hi guys
My brother in law has just been on the phone to see if i would look up on the net whats the best course of action to tackle white spot in his tank , as i'm still a newbie i thought i would run it this by you.
right
he had white spot in his old tank but had just got rid of it for about a week then he bought a new tank and transferred the fish over (with old filter), now my thinking is that by transferring the fish it has stressed them out a bit and lowered there immune system so they have got it again
he has 2 clown loaches that are very badly infected , other fish that are infected is a couple of neon's an albino Corry and 1 gorumi (not sure on the spellings sorry).
He has treated it with interpet #6 white spot+ and its not getting any better (was added on wed night) on reading the sticky on the forum i noticed that people said even though interpet say add to 500ml of warm water this should actually be hot water to activate the ingredients , he just added it to warm water so its obviously not activated the treatment , to start over again would he add his carbon filter tonight do a 50% water change and gravel clean tomorrow morning put the water back in and start from scratch??? i know that clown loatches can be very sensitive to meds so want to make sure he doesn't make them any worse , do you think such a big water change tomorrow would stress them even more??
unfortunately he hasn't got his old tank anymore so there's no way of quarantining them.
