Without the directions for use, I really wouldn't guess. If you are also having ammonia problems, I would do the water changes to keep the ammonia down and redose the recommended amount of the med you are using.

Ah I see. I've read a few methods for treating so got a little confused. Yep, planning to do that. Thanks :)

Heya thanks for asking. I'm not so sure actually :X 1 of them jumped out 2 nights ago when I was sleeping so I didn't maange to save it. The rest still have some white spots and are not active. Still flecking every now and then too.

I find it very strange how they're taking so long to get better :( I worry they won't make it!

Edit: I just checked them and they're covered in many tiny white spots.

Oh no..... Seriously though, if you can, go and get Malachite Green in liquid form. Change the water and treat with that daily for 4 days. I know you said you where heading away for a few days, but if there is someone around you could always pre measure the correct doseage into 3 small water bottles, mixed with water and have them tip one in each day. So sorry.

Hi thanks for your reply, really!

I changed the meds to malachite green yesterday and also did a 50% WC. I'm not sure if it's the WCs or temp or O2 levels that's hindering their recovery.. I'm leaving next Thursday and if my fish aren't better by than I can ask my sis to help me dose.

Malachite has always worked for me. It should clear up before you go. Sucks when they get sick :(

Good luck, Phil

Really hope it does. Watching them fleck makes me feel so down. It must really itch like hell..

Thanks loads

Just thought I'd update.

I went out and bought a heater plus a tubing to connect to my air pump. Not very sure how to work the heater but will try and up the temp to 30C slowly. I feel like an idiot cause I forgot to get a thermometer... Hope these help with the whitespots though

Careful with no thermometer, you don't want boiled fish soup

I've upped my temp to 30C. I feel like trying the salt and heat method because things aren't looking so good right now. Although I'm not so sure how to go about it..

I don't think chopping and changing is the way to go. Just remember you can only kill the parasite spores, so you have to wait until the parasite drops off the fish and bursts into spores. This means that it may look bad one day then suddenly it is gone. Stick with the treatment and have a little patients. Give it 4 days.

Okay. Salt & heat would be plan B then!

White spot sucks but malchalite green did not kill my snails or shrimp even my otos were cool but if you treat for more than two cycles or double dose it is like suicide because it will harm there emune system and eventually kill them it happened to my guppys
