I have noticed this morning that a couple of my fish have white speckles over their fins and body. They are very small and look almost like air bubbles on the surface of their body. Is it anything to worry about, or could it be something like white spot?

Sounds like white spot to me, I'm afraid. Does it look like they've been sprinkled with salt? Like this:

I dont know whereabouts in the world you are, but in the Uk there are a few good treatments, some recommend Waterlife's Protozin, personally I didnt think it was very good but apparently it usually is. I used King British WS3 for mine, and it cleared up in a couple of days. Be careful to half dose if you have sensitive fish like loaches, cories or plecs. Give the tank a good clean (big water change, and a really thorough gravel vac) before you start the meds, as sometimes you cant do water changes during treatment, and also the parasites live in the substrate. Raise the temperature and add an airstone too ;)

If your located in the U.S. Coppersafe is a great treatment ! I've used it a few times and have had lots of luck with it! :fish:

Try to use a hospital tank if you can. A lot of meds. will kill off your "good" bacteria colonies. If that happens then your tank will have to re-cycle. Read labels thoroughly. Good luck
