Marley [the black moor] has been quarantined for a day now, in a small 19ltr Hexa.

The white cotton like substance has dissapeared! He seems healthy again, although he doesn't seem to be able to eat as well as he used to.

I'll keep an eye on him, as we decided not to use any treatments. But so far so good, i think!

Is it possible for coloumnaris to clear up after a couple of days without treatment? Has it been heard of before?

Yes it can if it was only a weak strain, none fish keepers to cure it just on water changes.
But sometimes its not worth the risk, as columnaris can be deadly.
