While trying to do a deep clean of my fish tank, I noticed this off-white gunk caked on my submersible heater suction cup and part of the heater top (plastic part not glass). I made the stupid mistake of brushing it off while still in the tank, which resulted in the release of an army of white dust/crap into the tank.
I changed the water 50% right after that, and have been doing 20% changes about every other day since. The problem is my glass still has this dust on it and so do my fake plants. Therfore my tank looks extra crappy when the light is on.
I've also got a problem with some brush/beard algae.
Suggestions?
