For quick treatment increase the temperature of the water to up to 8
6 for a couple days. The fish can tolerate this but the paracites cannot. What you have is also known as ICH, or ICK. Here's a link with a lot of information:

If you go the medicine route (which can be a big pain because you generally have to remove any filtration with activated carbon) reduce the temperature to 80-82. This will reduce the stress on the fish but increase the potency of the meds.
You can also try adding a small amount of salt.
