Be carefull if stocking Tbars and Convicts together.....they will breed together happily!!
anyone want a TBAR X CONVICT juv....they are laying eggs as i type. hmmm
Ok, since my lfs couldnt get any fish I ordered, I drove up to Marietta today and I got 3 orange shoulder severums 2 gold severums and 3 firemouths. They are beautiful. I will post some photos tomorrow afternoon after the fish have become less stressed. My lfs took my convicts and red devil but wouldnt take my blood parrot, so I took him out of the 100 and moved him to the 55 and put my firemouth and turqouise sev in the 100 with the new fish.
Thats alot of fish for a 100 gallons, if I got your stocklist right (5 severums and 3 firemouths), could you clarify your tanks and whats in them?
That is in my 100 for right now. my friend wants one of the orange shoulder sevs. So when I give it to him there will be 5 sevs and 3 firemouths. I had a really long talk with the guy at the lfs about this stocking list and he said that it would not be overstocking since severums act like angelfish, in which they just kind of peacefully swim, and the firemouths will be mainly on the bottom putting action down there. I made sure it wouldnt be overstocking. But if one day it turns out to be overstocked as the fish grow, then I will find a fish to part with.
Yeah I think you will be overstocked to be fair, severums get to a reasonable size, and will be chunky as well. I think you will also experience aggression issues as severums arn't as peaceful as some make them out to be. The situation will be worse if you get a pair, which with 5 severums is quite likely, that will mean they will dominate the other 3 and probably the FM as well.
EDIT: I have personaly experience with this, my first severum constantly beat up my other one, to the point I had to return it, and now my second severum is beating on my oscar, which is why I am considering rehoming that one as well.
hopefully I wont have that experience, but if I do I will return them for some sort of store credit or something.
