which test kit is better

I use the first one.....its good. One thing though....the article on the link doesn't say it includes a nitrate test. Newer stock of the complete test kit includes a nitrate test.Just to let you know. :)

I've got the top one (as Chali says - with nitrate test) its been fine - although I wouldn't say its perfect as the two bottle tests (ammonia/nitrate) are a faff, and reading the nitrate test is definately a bit of an art rather than a science (red, red, red or red are the colours :S ), but I think all test kits have that problem....never seen the other one so can't say.

I have the Freshwater Master Kit and have no problems with it, except that I keep managing to break the little glass test tubes  I bought a nitrAte test separately. It's not a bad test kit, I like it all right.

Really, I prefer the strips that you just dip in the water, but they're WAY to expensive. I have no experience with the Tetra Deluxe Laborett, so can't comment on it. I did notice that it doesn't have a nitrAte test either, though.

in the book it says that there is a nitrate test as well. nitrite/nitrate.

I've never found a decent nitrate test yet. I'm told that the differences between the reds is so slight as to be pointless.

Additionally, as a colour-blind person, they are completely useless anyway. (LadyMinion is in charge of tests)

If anyone knows of a nitrate test that doesn't use shades of red & green, I would be eternally grateful.
