Hello Scott always an interesting question, its good your giving it some thought :good:

I have never had a Fluval tank so cannot make comment on it. I have however had 2 Juwel Tanks not the Particular model you are looking at, but I will bye more Juwel tanks in the future and will happily recommend them as well built Tanks. I prefer the bow fronts of the Vision and Trigon models but that's just personal.

Personally your looking at a good site I have rarely found brand new tanks cheaper than seapets.

When it comes to buying a tank I would offer a little advice offered by a friend when I first started he said "bye as big as you can afford, because I guarantee it does not matter how big it is you bye 6 months later and you will want bigger"

Now I don't know if that advice runs true with everyone but it was with me :good:

thanks for that, that is about the biggest tank i can afford at the moment, was going to use gravel as a substrate, but after doing some reading on this forum i think i will get the playsand out of argos.

one fish i will definately get is a kribensis

I have had both Jewel and Fluval tanks over the year and I think I prefer Fluval but is just the way it looks and also with Fluval you get to choose your filter rather than having to settle for the Jewel internal or trying to cut it out etc which can add to cost because then you need to get them.

I would really recommend the argos sand I had a few problems when choosing my substrate but the argos stuff saved the day!

I'd say Juwel hands down.

I've had both fluval and juwel and I had problems with the build quality of the fluval, especially the cabinets.

I currently have a rio 125, fantastic tank.

Also, the juwel internal filter is actually a good filter, admittedly it does take up a fair bit of room in the corner and I have taken mine out and now use an external eheim filter, but to be honest if I bought either of the two tanks again, I'd take the internals out of either of them in favour of an external so to me Will's argument regarding filter expense wouldnt apply.

Andy

just wondering if i'm getting this right, the fluval has the filter in the hood, and the juwel has it inside the tank, why is choosing something never easy

ok,looks like its going to bethe juwel, off to order it from seapets, thanks for all your replys
