Which Stocking?

im a bit worried about my planned stocking, ive beenn using aq advisor to get it and it says its fine but in my tank im worried there wont be enough swimming space for them, anyway heres the stocking i had planned;
5 discus
2 angelfish(start with 6 juvis to get a breeding pair)
2 german blue rams
15 cardinals
8 harlequins
6 adolfoi corys
7 hatchetfish

then i thought about swimming space and wondered if this would be better;
2 discus
2 angelfish(as above)
2 german blue rams
2 gold rams
20 cardinals
10 harlequins
6 adolfoi corys
6 hatchetfish

i was thinking maybe a breeding pair of discus but im wondering about aggression between them all? thanks in advance

in my link it says but its about 300liters/80 gallons, Length-48inches, Width-bow front, 18" at most, 13" at shortest, Height-24 inches

Not sure myself on the stocking levels, but like the idea of the 20 cardinals - they'd look great. Sure the angels wouldn't snack on them and/or the harlequins, though?

I used to breed angels. Never had a problem with them managing to eat any harlequins or cardinals so long as the shoal was more than about 6. Neons however, were indeed snack sized for the bigger angels.

I did avoid adding juvenile tetras to fully grown angels though, which probably made the difference.

I'd leave out the discus, they need to be in shoals and two isn't really enough.

yeh see this is where im stuck, aq advisor told me that both stocking plans would be fine as far as filtration and the amount of water is concerned but what i did was cut out life size newspaper fish and stuck them to the front of the tank to see how much room they would all take up(sad i know, but it works )andd it looked pretty crowded so i thought of the second stocking plan. Would the discus be alright as just 2 if they were a full grown breeding pair? i thought when you got a breeding pair that you sepereated them from other discus anyway, or is that just if you want them to raise the fry? thanks guys

That particular site is a load of tosh. Discus still need to be in groups, we may split them off into twos to breed but that isn't natural, they still live in large groups.

hmmm it depends on more than just whats in your tank, let your water quality be your guide, you should also take into account the size of your filter and how ofter it is maintained, the amount and frequency of water changes, the amount and frequency you feed, what you feed, etc, if you have time to do daily waterchanges, and have the largest filter you can afford, and feed little then you can have a lot more in your tank then if you have a small internal filter, you do a water changer once a fortnight and you feed a hand full of food a day. Its your choice, your tank, your fish.

thanks guys i think what ill do is just miss the discus out completely atm and add alll the other fish slowly and see how the water qualiity is once all others are added then look at how stocked it is and maybe in the future ill get a bigger tank and a shoal of discus

Is it possible to have a trio of the 3 colours? they're the same species arnt they? so would they get on or is it best to stick with the one colour
