Which Setup do you like better.

50 Gallon tank.

If you find any incompatibilities etc please let me know I will change the listings.

Setup A (The super active tank)
---------
7 x Tiger Barb
1 x Red Tail Shark
2 x Albino Krebensis
1 x bristle nose plecs

Hopefully some silver dollars.

Setup B (The hopefully will breed tank)
---------
2 x Pearl Gourami
6 x Neons tetras
5 x Fancy guppies
4 x Cardinals
1 x snail
4 x platies

I am not super hung up on breeding fish I have a spare 22 Gallon tank sitting doing nothing.

well for a start you need more than one bala shark and i dont think a 50 gal is big enough for that or a common plec?

why not go for something smaller? such as a bristle nose or 2? if you get male and female theres a high chance they would breed? or theres LOADS more but depends on what you want it for

Balas get 12" and that's how wide a 50 gallon is. Common plecs can get up to 24". May need to refine your tank size or fish choice :)

Ok Ok ... Lets remove the ones that wont work.

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far ... Remember reasons why would be helpful.

Well people who voting so far like Setup B . . I could even swap the red cardinals for Mollies to increase the chances of Breeding ... But the Red Cardinals was bringing in a solid new colour

I like the active tank. And Tiger Barbs are my favs. Tiger Barbs will limit the other inhabitants you can have, but boy they are worth it. My fave FW fish by far.

Yeah I hear you ... it's too hard to choose hence me having this poll. Too many fish in the world ... Thanks man when I was at the fish shop Tiger Barbs caught my eye ... Such a tough choice.

So we are back to 50 / 50 ha ha even the public can't decide

How about putting something different in your big tank if you're going to put tetras guppies and cardinals in your 25 gallon? Just going by your signature :)

The 25 Got high jacked ...

Only planning on running the 75G and the new 50G thats it.

People are big fans of the Gourami's ... Even the fish store was saying I should.

can you not get pentazona barbs? they are very simular to tiger barbs and peacful?

Also the "hopefully" will breed tank WILL breed since its impossible not to get guppies/platties to breed! Also tank B looks to be more active than tank A

I could try and get Pentazona Barbs ... Just I am not a fan of internet ordering fish. So Unless I can find a source that sells them ... Probably not going to happen for the time being.

Oh and just in case anyone see any incompatibilities in either setup please let me know I will be happy to change anything for something else.

Only condition is the following fish are the easiest for my to obtain.

Pearl Gourami
Fancy Guppies
Neon Tetras
Angel Fish (look speckled and spotted of yellow and black)
Red Cardinals
1 Eel Not sure if is there anymore
1 Blue Ram again could be bought by the time the tank is 6 months old
Platies
albino kribensis
Oto
Common Plec
Snails
Gold fish of various types
bala shark
red tail shark
tiger barb
zebra tetra
Betta

See here is my factors

I love Setup A I think it contains a lot of interesting fish with personality.

I love Setup B because I feel it is so varied in colours and types the tank will look amazing. And I wouldn't mind seeing a few breed possibly for feeders (killing 2 birds with 1 stone kinda.)

But Setup A is winning now ... Polls are crazy fluctuates all the time.

the tiger barbs and red tail will destroy the neons im afraid.. neons are a very delicate and peaceful fish, tiger barbs are boistrous and nippy and RTBS are a lively semi-aggresive fish.

I was trying to use the neons ... for a little bit of a size difference.
