How do I know if my bristlenoses are Ancistrus cf. cirrhosus or Ancistrus tamboensis?
From the pics on planetcatfish they do look more like Ancistrus tamboensis...
 
most r sold as ancistrous pleco/ bristle nosed plecos/ algy eaters.... its realy hard to get the exact latin name...

Colouration is quite distinct in the latter, looks more marbled than spotty if i remember correctly., either way you probably have a cirrhosus

Get a picture up, im sure someone will be able to ID correctly for you.
