Which One?

Assuming I can convince my mom to move a large wooden structure, I'm thinking I may set up a large cichlid tank in what we call the "office" as a display. I'm most interested in either a green terror or a Jack Dempsey. Which one would you experienced keeper's suggest? BTW I'm new here and to fish in general, although we did keep some goldfish some many moons ago.

Also the area I plan to do this in is big enough to accomodate a 65-gallon at the max. Which I'm assuming is plenty big enough for either an adult GT or Jack. How long does it take these species to reach their adult sizes, in case I end up getting a small one.

GT all the way, I have both in a tank and both are stunning but GT's seem to have a lot more personality!

How do you distinguish between a "true" GT and a gold saum? What's the diffs between them, as far as care and all that goes? WHy would it be important, in this case? Just trying to be thorough.

From what I've heard and read a true GT is rare, hard to find in the Uk. What most lfs have are white (silver) saum's and gold saum's. The real GT isn't supposed to be as colourful but is more aggressive then the saum's. Personally, I like the Gold Saum best, I've never kept a GT but that's the one I'd go for.

Choosing between a pair/solo of JD or GT. I'd either go with a EBJD or a Gold Saum, but Gold Saum for its reputed personality.

I personaly like the JD . I think they are so pretty. But I would have to say the GT has a bit more personality in general. Not to say you can't find a fun JD.

Out of curiosity, what fish can be housed with gt's? Answers for two setups will be greatly appreciated. One setup the gt is the largest cichlid, the other setup has the gt as not the largest.

Erm, it's like hypothetical so you pick. Otherwise does 300 litre sound reasonable? I'm mainly after ideas/information etc. I haven't had much luck finding info on what works with gt's.
