What are the differences between the types of monos: Mono Argentus and Mono Sebae? are either of them aggressive? does one get larger than the other? i like the yellow on the m.a. but i like the fin shape of the m.s. would it be alright to get two of them? would they school with my scat?

i really like the fire eel, unfortunatly that's not a brackish option. are there any eels like the fire eel that are brackish? or are the options limited to the freshwater morays like gymnothorax tile?

thanks,
chris

I think there isn't much difference between M. Sebae and M. argenteus in terms of water conditions, they are, however, quite aggresive, so should be kept ing groups of 5 or more. I think they would school with your scat and would get on fine. You should be able to get some of each.

I thought fire eels could tolerate low brackish waters. Apart from Morays I can't see much option,

would 2 monos and 1 scat not be enough to spread out the aggression, or would they beat each other up too much?

Hi

I use to have only two Monos and they used to fight all the time. When I got my bigger Tank I bought 5 more Monos and I never had a problem since.

I believe the sebae variety are more demanding of salt content, requiring a higher salinity than the argenteus at a younger age.
