Which Heater?

At the min iv got a 150w fluval heater in my 125l tank,

i dont like the temp dial on top and im always adjusting to get my right temp

been looking at this one

are they any good or would you say another?
also is 150w ok

Tetratec are a relatively new but seemingly reliable brand, although I have never come across any of their heaters before.

IME Fluval Tronics are one of the most reliable.

150W is ideal

Is your filter external?

If so, get a hydor 200w external heater. You wont regret it.

Not sure what size the ex1200 pipes are?

Yeah itll be fine then, you then dont have to have a heater INSIDE your tank

They are also really good, keep a rock solid stable temperature and are less likely to break than regular thermostatic heaters as they are made differently.

Not sure but the 200w version fits perfectly on the pipes from my ex600 if that helps...

The ID on the ex1200 tubing is jus about 16mm

so it will the the 300w

Itll be fine.

MY tanks 15G and i only need 100w, but i use a 200w external. No problems.

IMO you would be better off with a quality 150W in tank heater,

why use a heater that will cost twice as much to run and is more likely to either melt the tank or fry itself as it is intended to be ran in a tank that is almost 3 times the volume of the tank in question

My fluval 150w heater is still in,
iv just ordered the hydor, 16mm is the size of my pipes they dont do a smaller wattage for the size of my pipes

have you heard of it melting or any other problems?

Its no more unsafe than a smaller heater is. Could still fry the tank if it goes wrong.

What the hydor could still fry the tank or a internal heater?

When both heaters are working properly, they will both heat the tank fine. If either gets stuck on, they will both fry the tank, just obviously the larger heater will do it quicker. But the hydor is super reliable, so i sleep easy at night.
