Just sorted out my ammonia and i am ready for new fishies. I would like bright coulourful fish that are rather active. Middle, bottom or top don't mind. Size wise i don't mind as long as their not going to grow over 6 inches.

Tank size- 48" x 12" x 18"
Tanks inhabitants- 2 male guppies, 2 opaline gourmais(one m one f), common pleco, albino pleco, fry in breeding trap, swordtails (1 m 1f) 5 neons (blue and red and black neon tetras)

Any ideas? Also no aggressive fish. :good:

More Neons and Dwarf Cichlids

Neons!
Gouramis!
Sharks!
Ciclids!
Loaches!
Frogs!
Shrimps!
Crabs! :)

Thats what I can think of.

Jess dont worry too much about your ph. Whilst some species, like dwarf cichlids such as rams are particularly sensitive to ph and water conditions, most fish you get from your local store will have been breed and acclimatised to the ph in your area. Even so you would need to do a slow acclimatisation when you get them home (we can go thru that later).

You could try adding some more neons as they like to be in larger shoals.
Corydoras are particularly nice bottom dwellling fish, maybe 5/6 albino corydoras would be good.
Another nice fish and very active and colourful are rainbowfish, there are many difference types of rainbowfish, but dwarf neons are nice and would fit well in your tank with the other inhabitants.

Although you have this nitrIte problem at the moment, so it may be another few weeks before you can start adding im afraid, but it will give you time to read up on the species you like.

Some kind of barb? Not tiger though obviously as their aggressive. There are some barbs that look very similar to tigers without being aggressive but Ive forgot their name (someone help me out). Get a nice shoal of neons and maybe some cardinal tetra's?

Why are you going to buy fish if you don't even know what you want?

Go through the TFF Index at the top of the home page and see what fish you like. That's where I started. :)
