Hi all,

I'm wanting to know which types of fish are more suited to being put in a planted tank? I ask cos I don't want to make the mistake of setting up the tank and then buy a fish the will systematically pull up all the plants and ruin all my hard work.

I tend to see Harlequin Rasboras and Neon Tetras fairly regularly but I would like to get something that is a little less common.

Are there fish that should be avoided?

generally most fish will be fine, altho i'd avoid larger bottom feeders.

look for fish you like then do a quick google search to find a fish database will tell you all you need to know...............

Yep, Silver Dollars will devour them! But i agree w/Baron, figure out what fish you want and check for plant compatibility as you're doing your research.

Well, I was looking into Rams and it turns out that BGR and the sub colours prefer warmer temps which might be troublesome for some of the plant species I've ordered...
