I'm planning a 200L+ tank with the aim to create a natural river scene, there will be lots of wood and moss and long leaved crypts I've got the main list of plants sortered which are Crypt albida, balansae, petchii, tonkinensis, wendtii 'tropica', Marselis haristula, and the moss and a floating plant.

What i need is help choosing one or two types of large Echinodorus sps for the back corner. I'd like it to have a longer more narrow leaf rather than a broader round leaf I'd choose E. hormanii as this suit what i'm looking for perfectly but its a very expensive plant i just wanted to know if what i could use instead. I've looked on th tropica website but would like to see what you think especially if you have a plant that looks similar to hormanii.

Cheers.

Is there going to be a hood on the tank? With some echinodorus sp. they look really good when theygrow right out of the tank (like grandiflorus or cordiflorus). For long and thin, what about bleheri or osiris?

It is going to have a open top, and it would be nice to have some growth above the water both E bleheri and osiris interest me especially bleheri as it is probably the most widely available Echinodorus there is i.e. very cheap. I'm like the look of E. martii (major) to, but I'm a little unsure on how wavy the leaves are.

I think you should get E. Bleheri, as you mentioned it's the avaialble often and cheap and would make an excelent specimin plant, especially with an open top.
