which would you prefer in your aquarium or which do you normally see in others aquariums? :good:

I have driftwood in mine as I've never see bogwood in any fish store or online. Although i know what the difference between the two is, I don't know that I would even recognize the difference if I saw them.

Oh, I didn't know that most of my driftwood that I found in a freshwater river came from the ocean... the difference is that driftwood (well at least where I look for it) has more interesting patterns and shapes, and you can make it sink.

That's the thing.. I've researched on driftwood for the last half hour.(I know that's not very long but still) it says that it can be found in Rivers,Oceans, beaches, And that it floats... also something that it rots? ???? So apparently its Saltwater and also is freshwater... depends where you get it? I don't know.. Little confusing for me yet.. Although I do not want something in my tank that rots!

Reason for edit: Spelling. Might get scolded by someone for millspelled words..

A lot of the driftwood found in stores and online is actually wood that has been sandblasted to give it the bleached look. It's probably never been in water before and is totally dry so it takes a while to get water logged and stay submerged.

Sorry about that, I was sarcastic. rdd pretty much summed it up, it also depends on what kind of wood you have found, softwood might rot.

NO worries, you weren't being sarcastic. :good:

Couldn't really tell the difference, but I prefer bogwood. It's found underwater, so it looks more natural in an aquarium. Course same could be said for driftwood, lol, but I always associate driftwood with a wood that's washed ashore and doesn't normally stay underwater.
